My name is Alicia and I am a kinda-recent grad from the University of Washington with a double degree in Linguistics and Technical Communication. What are those degrees good for, exactly? No one knows.
I started blogging in 2003. Back then, LiveJournal was all the rage and blogging was just one of the many ways I was exploring being an annoying teenager. I had a brief affair with Blogger before settling down here at WordPress where I now exercise my right to be an annoying 20-something.
When I’m not studying or working, you can find me on my living room couch doing something useless online, watching classic episodes of The Simpsons, or napping under the Snuggie.

Right before I graduated I asked my counselor what I could expect to do with my degree.
He stared blankly. Uh-oh.
I ended up as a copy editor for a newspaper.
