Topics usually trend on Twitter because A) Rainn Wilson asks people to come up with a new slogan for #corn, or B) some random international news piece is the hottest new topic to make you sound educated and informed.

Which is why I was curious when I saw that “Joe Jonas” was trending. Now why the hell would the Twitterverse give a damn about Joe Jonas? Was he demoing a new video game controller at E3? Did he release a new, highly-touted but essentially uninteresting search engine? Did he beat the shit out of Rihanna?
